“ We had a great meal at this very busy resturant on a Friday night. The town is awesome all lit up with Christmas lights. The restaurant was very busy. We had a tavern burger Maple cured wild salmon in a tavern Philly chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious. Service was perfect. There are many choices on the menu. We plan to go back soon. ”

“ Maxwell's is a Waxhaw fixture. The location and ambience are wonderful - right across from the railroad bridge! But what keeps me going back (from my home in Charlotte) are the hamburgers. They are consistently really good. This past trip after I had walked all over town, I sat at the bar and ordered the Carolina Burger with a Red Oak draft. The service by the bartender Chrissy was excellent. It made my day! ”
“ The service and food were excellent. Located right on Main Street near the "tracks". We were so hungry I did take photos but the Patty Melt and Quesadilla w/chicken were delicious. Nice old building and plenty of seating with TVs to keep up with the game but able to converse. Definitely recommend. ”
“ Maxwells is a great little tavern with fantastic food and fast service! the workers are quick with their job and you get your food very quick, we got an appetizer of the bread with different butters and the cinnamon butter is fantastic! I definitely recommend that, the fries are fantastic they aren't mushy like some places, and their chicken sandwich was to die for - my boyfriend got the Ruben sandwhich and loved it! I definitely recommend, the only thing I'd say negatively about it is how small the inside is, seating can be very close together with another group depending on where you sit! ”

“ Met a friend here as it was the only restaurant in the area with something "plain" enough on the menu that I could eat... and I was pleasantly surprised how they worked with my current restrictions... Gluten-free marinated grilled chicken, delicious green beans cooked in chicken stock & fresh steamed broccoli that was steamed to the perfect tenderness! The chicken was AMAZING. Full of flavor. The broccoli even had awesome flavor (I had 2 servings!) and the green beans, while they weren't very "green" anymore having soaked for so long in the chicken stock, they had a good flavor as well. The waiter was attentive, listened, was patient and served us very quickly. The tavern is in an old downtown building with awesome brick walls that's both cozy, modern, and ancient all at the same time. Overall this place is probably your healthiest option if you're on a restricted meal plan like I am... and it was delish! ”
